Of Mice, Cookies, and Government!

Reports are that Tennessee's Republican governor is considering workers'-comp reform that  includes 31 ombudsmen and 20 workers'-comp judges. That's 51 new bureaucrats; but who's counting! The government's behavior when you start increasing the number of bureaucrats is strikingly similar to the mouse in "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie."
So, our 51 new bureaucrats need staff so they can do their jobs. Oh, and then we will need someone to write rules and regulations under which these bureaucrats will function; this means hiring some rules-and-regulations writers and what will they need? Staff. You can't have new rules and regulations without hearings and it wouldn't do if these aren't state-wide hearings. And all these new government employees are in addition to the ones who are supposed to be handling workers'-compensation cases under the current system. They aren't going anywhere!
Well, at least the state paid well recognized experts to put together this more-government-will-help plan.  At this rate we should be able to get that pesky unemployment figure down.
